ICNEER is the abbreviation for International Center for Networking, Ecology, Education and Reintegration. It has been set up to serve as a nucleus to promote sustainable development which takes both ecology and economy into consideration. Besides promoting environmental rejuvenation by encouraging use of low external input agriculture, alternative sources energy and appropriate technology, ICNEER helps towards reversal of brain drain. It also provides a platform for North-South and South-South dialogue.
Photographs depicting infrastructure, activities and demonsrations at Eco-Center ICNEER will be displayed; including the agroforestry section, kitchen garden, herbal garden, rich natural biodiversity and econiches as well as Seifert parabolic solar cooker, Scheffler community colar cooker, a W500 windmill, Stirling engines etc.
On display will also be samples of organically grown and processed produce from India including fruits, vegetables, spices, cereals, pulses etc. greeting cards, plates and bowls prepared from leaves and other natural products as well as seeds for distribution and exchange.
Furthermore, reading material (reports, newsletters and literature) to provide a deeper insight into organic agriculture scenario in India as well as pamphlets about various NGOs involved in sustainable development activities will be made available at the stand.
Since environmental problems are acute and involvement of all sectors of society are necessary to overcome such problems, ICNEER addresses wide range of target groups including children, youth, women, farmers, professionals in urban and rural areas, NGO project coordinators and extension workers from within the country and overseas.
ICNEER welcomes all conserned and interested persons, institutes and organisations to work together with long term objective of changing people from being ecological parasites to becomming useful citizens of Planet Earth.
