ABOUT MAR DEL PLATA

IFOAM's 12th Scientific Conference and General Assembly will take place in the city of Mar del Plata, 400 km away from the Capital. Mar del Plata is Argentina's biggest resort and one of Latin America's greatest. It has an important hotel structure and excellent roads.

It is situated by the Atlantic Ocean, south of Buenos Aires. It has a picturesque fishing harbour and a great variety of beaches and forests. Moreover, it has a large commercial centre familiar with tourism from all over the world. Around Mar del Plata are some of Argentina's most productive lands, with record yields of corn, wheat, meat and sunflower.
